I view my role as a therapist to be that of a passenger, providing you with guidance and support throughout your personal journey. I aim to provide a safe space where you feel valued, honoured, and respected, putting forth empathy and a non-judgemental attitude through every step of the way. I understand the strength it takes to take this step to self-growth, and I am hopeful that this environment will provide you with the comfort to share and explore your story.
I approach therapy from a person-centered lens with a focus on self-compassion, allowing you to direct the sessions in whichever way you deem most appropriate. As I emphasize a holistic approach, I believe you are the expert on your own unique person and story, and I am here to help you build the tools that will be helpful in achieving your desired goals and resilience in future challenges. As such, I avoid viewing therapeutic techniques as a one-size-fits-all and will work with collaboratively to determine which approach is most effective for you. We will explore approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural, Acceptance and Commitment, Solution Focused, and Strengths-Based Counselling.
I am currently in the final semester of my Master of Art Psychology at the Yorkville University, completing my practicum under the supervision of Rachel Sturgeon, MA, RP, CCC. I am a qualifying member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
NOTE: These are the office hours and that therapists have varied availability.
