Rachel, a dedicated and experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, runs Sturgeon Counselling with a belief in working with her clients to maintain and improve their mental health. If your needs are outside her realm of practice, she can readily refer you to the appropriate resource – from fellow counsellors, to Registered Psychologists as well as community resources and groups. Rachel believes in providing comprehensive mental health services to her clients in a friendly, relaxed, but professional atmosphere. She believes in educating her clients as she works with them to achieve holistic wellness in all aspects of their life.
Supervising budding therapists is growing to become a substantial part of my practice. Currently I supervise interns, qualifying psychotherapists and more seasoned therapists who see the value of supervision through their career. My initial focus as your supervisor will be to create a healthy working alliance with you, my supervisee, to create a strong foundation for our work together. As your supervisor, my aim is not only to help you to learn and grow within the profession but to ensure that I provide a safe learning environment within which you feel comfortable addressing not only your successes with clients but also the challenges, doubts and fears that you may experience.

Rachel is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP), registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), certified by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and has been a member in good standing of this organization.
