In a world that is so fast-paced and accessible, it can be especially painful and confusing experiencing feelings of disconnection and isolation. Whether this results in feelings of disconnection with ourselves, others in our lives, or the world around us, I am honoured to be considered an ally on your path towards discovery and connection to your authentic self. The vulnerability it takes in these times to reach out and ask for support takes an immense amount of courage – one of your many inherent strengths you’ve already harnessed in searching for a therapist. It is my passion to work alongside you to further explore your inner wisdom and strengths as well as join you on the path of self-discovery to help create your most empowered future.
My main area of focus in my work is helping clients overcome issues with interpersonal relationships, relational trauma and helping clients with self-exploration. Other areas of interest and experience include anxiety, depression, stress and trauma.
I believe that every individual is unique and I strive to provide an individualistic, collaborative, and holistic approach that emphasizes the potential healing nature of relationships. Together we can work to create a safe space to explore the relationship to the self through values and the relationship to others through an attachment-informed lens to acquire deeper meaning of yourself and your relationships with the intent to transform and heal.
My commitment is to show up for you in a way that is genuine, non-judgmental, accepting, and honours the vulnerability of sharing your story. My hope is that this will cultivate an environment of safety and acceptance. As an ally to the 2SLGBTQI and BIPOC community, I welcome working with individuals of diverse cultures, religions, genders, and sexual orientations with openness, respect, and curiosity.
In my work, I come primarily from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) perspective. Being client-focused, I also weave in pieces from other approaches as appropriate for each client including attachment, psychodynamic and humanistic.
